June is National River Month – a time to recognize the value of rivers across the country and the critical role they play in supporting fish, wildlife, and communities.
For Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited, this month is a reminder of why we do the work we do. Rivers like the Snake are vital coldwater systems that sustain native and wild trout and offer world-class fishing and recreation. But they don’t stay that way without effort!
JHTU works to protect, reconnect, restore, and sustain coldwater fisheries. That means advocating for flexible water management, restoring habitat, and working with our community to ensure rivers like that Snake to continue to thrive in the face of pressure from climate change, development, and overuse.
This National River Month, we invite you to think about what rivers like the Snake mean to you – and how we can all be part of the solution to keep them healthy, cold, and fishable for future generations!
