TU & BTNF Cabin Creek Project

Trout Unlimited and Bridger-Teton National Forest’s project on Cabin Creek, a tributary to the Greys River, is currently underway! From October 22 to November 7, Forest Route 3256 at Cabin Creek will be closed while crews remove an outdated culvert and replace it with a bottomless arch crossing.

The original culvert (shown in the photo) was perched, blocking fish from accessing critical upstream habitat. The new structure will reconnect 4.4 miles of important spawning habitat for native cutthroat trout, improve sediment transport, and support long-term channel stability.

This work represents an important step toward improving watershed health in the Greys River drainage.
