Weekly conditions update — 6/29/2026:
• After a warm start to the week, cool and wet conditions delivered an average of 0.5 inches of precipitation across the watershed.
• Cooler air temperatures have brought water temperatures down nearly 10 degrees after the Flat Creek and Snake River below Flat Creek monitoring sites hit 65 degrees F on Wednesday.
• Natural streamflow, or streamflow without the effects of regulation, continues to drop quickly. Most tributaries are currently at 40 – 60% of average for the date.
• Streamflow at gaging locations on the main Snake River are near average due to higher-than-average Jackson outflows making up for low natural flow.
• Jackson Lake (85% full) and Palisades (44% full) are both drafting. Jackson outflows remain near 5,000 cfs. Palisades outflows have increased to 13,000 cfs
• As spring runoff declines, turbidity has begun to drop on Flat Creek, excluding a spike on June 27th from rapid streamflow response to rain.
