Pre-Project Population Estimates on Dell Creek

Jackson Hole Trout Unlimited is looking forward to our upcoming fish passage restoration projects on Dell Creek. This August, we will remove and replace six irrigation diversions that currently act as barriers to fish movement during various streamflows.

Once completed, the project will reconnect approximately 12 miles of habitat, giving Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout access to important spawning, rearing, and seasonal habitat.

JHTU partnered with Lost River Fish Ecology to electrofish each construction site and collect pre-project population estimates for Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout and other native fish. These baseline data will help us measure the project’s success after construction is completed.
