Jackson community – we have recently received word of changes to the planned flow decreases out of both Jackson and Palisades, which have occurred yesterday and today.
The Bureau of Reclamation is decreasing outflow from Jackson Lake by 500 cfs at 7 am and 4 pm today. As Jackson Lake outflow is constantly decreasing due to lower head levels, the total change in outflow will be more along the lines of 1200 cfs from yesterday through this evening. Palisades was decreased approximately 800 cfs yesterday.
The changes are due to new projections and are intended to hold more water back in Jackson Lake and Palisades Reservoir for the winter and 2027 water year ahead.
We are seeking volunteers for citizen science observations of the ramp down once again this year. Please message us if you are interested in helping out!
